Privacy Policy
At RecOver ("we", "our app", or "the Service") we take privacy seriously. This Policy describes what information we collect, why we use it, with whom we share it, and the rights you have regarding it.
By creating an account or using the app you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use RecOver.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is the RecOver development team. For any request or question related to your personal data, contact us at recover.app.business@gmail.com.
2. What data we collect
2.1 Account information
When you sign up or sign in, we collect the information needed to identify you:
-
Email address (either the one you enter or the one provided by your
identity provider: Google or Apple). If you choose "Hide My Email" with Apple, we receive
a private relay address (
@privaterelay.appleid.com). - Name (if provided at sign-up or via Google/Apple).
- Unique identifier (UID) generated by Firebase Authentication to distinguish your account.
- Authentication provider (email/password, Google, or Apple) and the identifiers associated with that provider.
- Email verification status.
2.2 Diagnostic and performance data
To detect crashes and improve service reliability, our monitoring provider (Sentry) automatically collects:
- Device information (model, operating system, OS version).
- Application version.
- Crash reports and execution stack traces.
- Session breadcrumbs (technical events such as "user opened screen X" or "email send failed"). These records do not contain the contents of your videos.
- IP address (used for abuse mitigation and aggregate statistics).
2.3 Recordings you access through the app
RecOver lets you access video recordings captured by cameras installed at partner sports clubs. The app does not use your phone's camera to record. The typical flow is:
- The club or its recording system provider captures the sports session you participated in and makes the recording available to attendees.
- The app requests — on your behalf — the list of recordings and the corresponding video files, then streams or downloads them to your device for playback and editing.
- All edits, trims, and AI analysis (ball tracking, play detection) run locally on your device. Neither the original recordings nor your edits are uploaded to RecOver's servers.
- The final output is saved to your device's gallery only if you request it.
Retention of the original recordings in the club's or its provider's systems is governed by that club's policies and is outside RecOver's control.
2.4 System permissions
The app requests the following permissions. None are used to collect data off-device:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Photo library / storage | Read existing videos on your device for editing, and save downloaded recordings and edited clips to your gallery. |
| Photo location metadata | Technical access required by the system media library to handle files. We do not extract or transmit location data. |
3. How we use your data
- Create and maintain your account.
- Authenticate you when you sign in.
- Send you transactional emails (email verification, password reset, email-change confirmation).
- Detect errors and improve the stability of the app.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your information to third parties.
4. Service providers (processors)
We share data with the following providers strictly so the Service can function:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC — Firebase Authentication | Authentication and account management | Email, UID, name, provider, IP address |
| Google LLC — Google Sign-In | Sign in with Google | Email and name from your Google account (only if you use this method) |
| Apple Inc. — Sign in with Apple | Sign in with Apple | Email (real or relay) and optional name (only if you use this method, once at sign-up) |
| Functional Software, Inc. — Sentry | Error reporting and diagnostics | Device technical information, error events, UID, IP address |
| Partner sports clubs and their recording system providers | Deliver the recordings of sessions you attended | Minimum identifiers needed to associate you with your sessions (for example, your email or a booking identifier). RecOver does not share your edited videos or diagnostic data with these third parties. |
Each provider operates under its own privacy policies, available at: Firebase, Google, Apple, Sentry.
5. International transfers
The providers listed operate servers in the United States and other countries. By using RecOver you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and stored outside your country of residence, under the contractual and technical safeguards those providers implement (including EU Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalents).
6. Data retention
- Account information: for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, the information is removed from our authentication systems within a reasonable timeframe.
- Diagnostic data (Sentry): up to 90 days per event, per the provider's default retention settings.
- Recordings and edits: RecOver does not store either the original recordings from the club or your edits on its servers. Downloaded copies and edited clips remain on your device as long as you choose to keep them. Retention of the original recordings in the club's systems is governed by that club's policies.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data. You may also request portability of your data.
You can exercise these rights:
- From the Profile screen in the app (change email, change password).
- By emailing recover.app.business@gmail.com to request full account deletion. We will respond within 30 days.
If you reside in Mexico you may contact INAI. If you reside in the European Union you may contact your national data protection authority. If you reside in California (US), additional rights apply under CCPA/CPRA, which we honor on the same terms described here.
8. Children
RecOver is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you learn that a child under 13 has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We apply reasonable measures to protect your information: encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest in Firebase services, and password hashing on Firebase's side. No measure is perfect — if you notice a security issue, please email us right away.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect legal, technical, or product changes. If the change is material, we will notify you inside the app before it takes effect. The "Last updated" date is shown at the top of this document.
